Chryste Gaines

Olympic Gold Medalist

Chryste started running at age 12, winning the 200m dash at the National Jesse Owens Games at the Los Angeles Olympic Stadium. A high school superstar and three time state champion while attending South Oak Cliff High School, she competed in her first Olympic Trials at the of age 17. Chryste held the high school girls 100m dash record at the Texas relays that was set her senior year until 2019. After graduating Valedictorian of her Senior Class at South Oak Cliff, Chryste attended Stanford Univeristy on a full scholarship.

She earned a degree in psychology, while completing the pre-medicine requirements while at Stanford.  At Stanford she won 3 consecutive 100m PAC-10 Championships, an NCAA indoor 55 meter and outdoor 100m championship. Chryste is also a Pan American Games champion in 100m. 1992 and 1996 Olympic 4x100m gold medalist; 2000 Olympic 4x100m bronze medalist; 3-time World Champs 4x100m gold medalist (1995, 1997, 2001); 2001 U.S. Outdoor 100m champion; 2-time U.S. Indoor 60m champ (‘01, ‘02); 2001 World Indoor 60m bronze medalist. 2003 World Outdoor 4x100m silver medalist and ranked #1 in the World in the 100m; Chryste is also a former American record holder in the 4 x 100m relay.

Chryste holds an MBA from Coles College of Business in Kennesaw, GA. She is now an MD with GFI while  helping families all over the country.
